Emotional flooding is a common experience for HSPs and neurodivergents. As it sounds, we can become flooded with challenging feelings and emotions which trigger immense discomfort. This can occur not only in “expected” stressful situations, but also “everyday” situations which may not at all feel uncomfortable for the non-HSP.In this episode, I speak about:What emotional flooding is, how it occurs and how to identify itThe impacts of emotional suppressionSeeking psychological safety for healthy emotional expressionHow to plan for aftercare of emotional floodingThe Gentle Living 2023 mini-retreat is coming soon!! #49: The Productivity Myth, Self-Worth and Coping with Exhaustion
In today's episode, I speak to "the productivity myth" and how deeply we can attach our self-worth to our ability to produce and create. Not only is this unhelpful (and a myth!!) but it may be part of the reason why you experience ongoing, recurring or frequent exhaustion. I get a little vulnerable and share my challenge with productivity, self-worth and chronic fatigue along with an incredibly simple yet effective strategy to better manage by energy through a system called "energy pacing." If you would like to practice this strategy yourself, download my FREE worksheets HERE to get you started. Exciting news... I have something really fun coming up this year that I've never done before (crafted especially for the HSP), and would love to invite you to be part of it!
