S1 Ep 43 - Stop comparing yourself to others on social media
This episode is about comparison. Specifically comparing yourself to others on social media. How can you focus on your own progress when there is so much noise around you?
Whilst social media is an incredible addition to our society, it unfortunately didn’t come with a health warning like on cigarettes or alcohol but it’s probably just as addictive and just as destructive.
Managing your consumption of social media and especially that of comparison is something not only beneficial for you to learn for you but for you to also teach others, especially children and young people. You are therefore the social media warning label.
We are living in a world of ratings! Instant gratification is everywhere which raises dopamine too frequently and dilutes the joy and happiness we should be experiencing at a balanced level. The long-term effects of this unbalanced dopamine hit will harm your mental wellbeing.
