On March 18, 1996, 162 people, mostly teenagers and young adults celebrating the end of the school year, were killed in a blaze that was supposed to be a party but turned out to be a tragedy. Ninety-three others were severely injured.
That Monday night twisted a night full of fun into a night of inferno, being one of the worst fire incidents in the country and the seventh-worst fire incident in the world as described by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
