Episode 12: 'Brothers In Arms' by Dire Straits
'Mark's Latest Trick'
Mark Knopfler's ability to understand the true meaning of Rock 'N' Roll shines ever brighter with what would be Dire Strait's penultimate album. In the mid 80s, where technology was advancing, popular music becoming more electronic and the breakthrough of MTV as a platform for said Pop Music, Mark and Dire Straits were able to bridge the gap between traditional Rock 'N' Roll and 80s Pop - resulting in one of the most well known guitar riffs of all time, songs written by a virtuoso Guitar player with almost no guitar solos in and an album that really does preach our Rock 'N' Roll mantra: Musical Freedom.
