1) DAILY INSPIRATION: Once you finish this book, you might feel excited about creating your success routine and you may do an excellent job putting one together. However, as with all new things, we can lose our initial fervor. The idea is to stay inspired and motivated every day. I accomplish this and help clients accomplish this through morning inspiration, every day of the week. I have developed the habit of listening to something inspiring, educational or motivational as soon as I get up in the morning. Preferably, something related to my vision for the future. It could be an audio book, an online source or something pre-recorded. This way, I keep my thoughts intentional while my brain waves are still coming out of theta[1] and very open to suggestion. I then keep the audio running throughout my morning routine: Exercising, showering, making breakfast for the family, primping for the day, etc. On a typical day, by the time I finish my power hour and morning preparations, I will have listened to anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours of something inspiring. I even prefer to listen to something intentional in the car rather than the radio, while commuting during the day.
The BONUS to listening is that my family hears it, too. They have benefited greatly from it, even on days when everyone was not giving their full attention. Imagine playing intentional, inspiring messages in the background instead of the dreaded “news” or other distractions. Seeking daily inspiration through listening can change the atmosphere of your home and undoubtedly, the atmosphere of your heart and mind. If you remember Jen’s story in Chapter One, this practice healed their marriage.
The second way to attain daily inspiration is reading books or articles. Choose materials that will increase your resolve for success and equip you to meet every challenge you face with the confidence necessary to rise above.
I attribute the habit of daily inspiration to be one of the most important pieces to the journey towards greatness through routine.
2) TECHNOLOGY: For those reading this book, who own devices such as cellular phones, tablets, computers and the like- there is really no excuse for not utilizing these devices to empower you, equip you and engage you in your success journey. Everything from apps you can download for exercising, meditating, scheduling and journaling to reminders you can set, along with websites you can visit for inspiration and information for daily growth. Devices can be a distraction or a gift. It all depends on how you choose to use them.
For those readers who do not possess nor desire to possess technology, think about creative ways in which you can utilize the “silent moments of the day” that will alter your state of mind. Try singing, speaking positive affirmations over yourself, reading aloud or just listening to the sounds of nature around you and taking it all in.
