#10 - GENEROSITY
All of us have a desire to give back to something bigger than ourselves, to make an impact and to create a difference for others in our sphere of influence. However, those who are influential have developed a habit of looking for opportunities to give back.
When we build a reputation of generosity, people take notice. Whether it’s giving to causes for children, veterans, physical disabilities or diseases, the rapport gained is undefinable in terms of cost or investment.
Some may reason that they would if they had the money to do so. But being generous is not confined strictly to monetary giving. Below are some other ways you can develop a reputation as someone who is generous:
· Volunteer for a soup kitchen or other homeless cause
· Share insights freely through speaking pro bono at events, sitting on a panel or in one to one conversations
· Offer your expertise on a board
· Run or bike in a marathon to raise money for a cause
· Hold an event and promise a percentage of proceeds to a chosen cause
· Buy meals, toys or gifts during the holidays for the less fortunate
· Donate or help put together care packets for a cause
This list, truly, could go on and on but this gives you a few ideas to begin with. Giving of your time, insights, expertise or resources is never wasted and will always be a cornerstone characteristic of someone who is influential. The world simply needs more generous people; make sure you are one of them
