Ethiopia is an ancient country whose modern borders have been shaped by war and internal strife. Governments have included an emperor who became a god, a communist dictatorship, a less communist dictatorship and now a government ruled by a man with a Nobel Peace Prize, who some are calling every bit as bad as the worst.
A dreadful war has broken out in the Tigray region of Ethiopia. Eritrea - once part of Ethiopia - has stepped in and death, rape and defeat have followed.
To help us understand this complicated situation, we’re joined by political analyst Goitom Gebreluel who focuses on the region.
