The question asked here was- When Om Swami initiates someone and he says that he takes responsibility of that person's karma upon himself, what does it mean? And if Om Swami can explain it further? This is the second part to it.
Om Swami says that when a disciple takes initiation from a guru it is a rebirth for that person. All the karma prior to initiation gets over. Initiation has a very important place in sanatan dharma. It is a perennial and unbroken chain of the sanatan dharma and without it none of the sanskars are considered completed. Without initiation and dakshina none of the shodash sanskars are completed. He says that the passage of karma has to be completely clear or the soul cannot make progress. When the guru gives initiation, he liberates the disciple from his or her collected karma till that moment but this does not apply once initiated. After initiation the disciple’s karma is their own. Om Swami says that this liberation by initiation is a hundred percent possible without any doubt whatsoever.
