The question asked here was - Sometimes when in meditation we reach a stage almost divine but we know that there is an even better stage. How can one get to the first stage at will and then to the second stage?
Om Swami says that any good and recurring experience during meditation is a very good sign. To be in that good state whenever desired, the two things required are extreme mindfulness and a desire and willingness to purify oneself constantly says Om Swami. Supreme mindfulness helps a person in choosing their words and actions and in not pursuing their endless thoughts. Not pursuing thoughts helps a person to be in a blissful state which in turn will help in good meditation he says. To get to the next stage in meditation one needs to do things differently, i.e by challenging themselves and by bringing changes to the quality and quantity of the meditation done. If this is not done, then, one cannot progress but may in all chance digress says Om Swami. He says that unless value is added, spiritual growth cannot happen. One should constantly purify themselves and work on their shortcomings to get to the next stage he says.
