Dub music means different things to different people.
My introduction was, I think, through the likes of Smith & Mighty – certainly my introduction was by way of Techno – so I lean more on the sparse, deep and moody side of things compared to what I would call Reggae Dub – ‘skank’ with more organs, guitars and references to ‘Ja’.
I guess, to me, Dub is the Delay – dark, modulated delays that conjure the image of a ‘mad professor’, maybe even THE Mad Professor sitting at a mixing desk using the sends to push audio into a Roland Space Echo or some old guitar pedal, back through the desk and riding the faders into eternity.
Anyhow – the mix is a bit of that, a bit of techno and a few other things as well. I thoroughly enjoyed making it, I hope you enjoy listening to it.
