I had no intention of being a coach. I was working as a Chef for the Taj Group of Hotels, and I loved my work – fulfilling and fun! And cooking was my thing. Then everything changed. In September 1999, I met with a car accident in Bangalore. I had fallen asleep at the wheel and ran over a man in daylight. Providence came to my rescue. The man was safe, not a scratch. But, before I fell asleep, I got a thought, ‘Stop the car, call Debu!’ I rationalised using my logical mind that I would make that call when I saw a phone booth. Little did I know that I was being warned about danger ahead.
