Lou Delice: A Healthcare Administrator’s Perspective on Healthcare

Today we get a healthcare administrator’s perspective on healthcare from Lou Delice. He joined Rob Oliver on the Perspectives on Healthcare Podcast from West Virginia. Because Lou’s family is originally from Haiti, he has a unique viewpoint. Additionally, not only is he a healthcare administrator but he also has a degree in nursing (which he acquired after he began working in administration.) He has a background in orthopedics, neuroscience and rehab services. He is a member of the Millennial Generation (Generation Y.)

Here are 3 things that stood out as Lou Delice shared a healthcare administrator’s perspective on healthcare:

· One of the major problems in Haiti is the access to healthcare. There are places where quality healthcare is available, but they are at a considerable distance for some Haitians.
· The best possible outcome in a healthcare environment is the one that meets the patient’s goal!
· Medical professionals can improve the quality of healthcare by holding each other accountable when it comes to providing care.
