The National League is nearing its conclusion and, after a positive start, Mayo's form has gone a bit awry, just at a time where their Connacht Championship clash with Galway is coming into view. Despite those narrow losses in their last two League outings, however, James Horan's team could still qualify to meet Kerry in the final, providing they beat Kildare on Sunday.
In this episode of the Mayo News Football Podcast, host Rob Murphy is joined by Edwin McGreal and Colin Sheridan to assess where Mayo stand at what seems to be a critical juncture for the team. The lads discuss Saturday evening's defeat to Tyrone, the form of some of the players fighting for a starting place, Mayo's attacking issues, their strength in defence and where team places are up for grabs right now.
The debate then shifts to this week's news about MacHale Park's readiness for the Galway game before the focus swings to Sunday's meeting with Kildare and the challenge the Lilies are set to bring to Carrick-on-Shannon.
