Thomas Hebert isn’t a surveyor, he doesn’t work in our industry, but does use our technology for his latest venture. He actually comes from an insurance background of 20 years. Now why do I have this guest on my show you may be thinking? Thomas is a palaeontologist from Wisconsin. He is the Founder and Director of Earth Sciences Foundation Inc. a not for profit organisation. Recently a guest on The Geoholics podcast, Tom, is using his new found friendships to gain momentum in his dream of working on research in earth sciences and creating an environment to allow for earth sciences to be available for everyone to, be involved and to learn. With a strong GIS component to his work, Thomas sits on the outskirts of our industry in the spatial sector. He enjoys most things outdoors & depends his spare time fishing, exploring, working with young people, listening to people talk about their vision and where they want to go and working out how he can help them oh and also digging for dinosaurs. He has been working in Palaeontology for 10 summers and returned to school last year.
