This week, we take a tour of the Latter-day Saints Temple in Kensington, Maryland. Originally complete in the 1974, the temple is the site of ceremonies typically closed to anyone who isn't a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
But - after extensive renovations and a two-year delay due to the pandemic - this spring the temple has opened its doors to the public for a brief two-month window before it is rededicated in August.
I talk with Melanie Coulton of the temple communications team and Emily Utt, a historic sites curator for the church, as well as visitors reflecting on what they learned from their experience.
