In today’s episode, I am talking about when I had my littlies home with me the other day.
We were choosing an afternoon movie and landed on SOUL.
There was one message in the movie that I was happy to spend time explaining.
And that was the difference between your soul’s purpose and the meaning of life.
Whilst I truly, 100% believe that our soul has a purpose to some degree - and that purpose is part of our own personal journey, script, story you could say. And whilst that purpose is valuable and has such depth - I have started to realise over my years that it’s not so much EXACTLY what you are doing within that purpose but the feeling state, the embodied alignment and joy, the deep gratitude washing through you.
So that’s not to say don’t go for big dreams, or don’t chase down what feels purposeful, but the real question is are we opening up to the meaning of life that to me is felt in the everyday.
Such as:
Holding your child as they cry, watching their heart break.
Witnessing a fellow human do something wild, outrageous and simply inspiring.
Watching the way shadow and light plays on your bedroom wall.
The taste of a strawberry.
That first insanely refreshing glass of water after you’ve completed a big workout.
The deep rest and peace that washes over your babies faces when they sleep or their little fingers reaching for your face when breast-feeding.
The crunch of autumn leaves under your feet.
The first beam of sunshine you feel after a long bout of rain.
The magic in the air when watching live music.
The love in the air when witnessing two people on their wedding day.
Today’s episode is about when we add each of those moments up, many hundreds of them, that we have hopefully been present with and soaked up, isn’t it then that we live a purposeful, meaningful life?
