Meditation is an excellent way to stay centred. This simple practice can help bring clarity, ease the mind and provide a greater sense of acceptance.
Herbs can be really useful tools when used in meditation. They calm the nervous system, develop clarity and help the mind become more stable and steady.
There are many ways you can incorporate herbs into your meditation sessions. But the most common way is by burning the herbs before starting your ritual or making them into tea.
Sage
Some species of Sage are held sacred by Native Americans, who use it to balance and cleanse negativity from the body and mind. Sage can be useful for meditation because it can improve your mood and enhance memory and cognitive function. It is also used for self-purification and cleansing, healing and protection and increasing wisdom.
Tulsi
Tulsi, also called holy basil, is known as a meditation herb. With more than 3,000 years of medicinal use, This herb helps maintain the balance of the body's energy systems and can provide a sense of ease. Tulsi is a sacred herb in Hinduism and has a long history of aiding spiritual practice. It is grown outside many homes in India and is thought to aid with meditation as well as purify and protect your home and body.
Nettle
Nettle is a great source of vitamins A, C, E, B1, B2, B3, B5 and minerals, including iron and calcium. Nettle helps bring our awareness to the things in life that are uncomfortable. Use this herb in your meditation to dispel darkness and fear and aid in healing and protection.
Gotu KolaGotu Kola is a member of the parsley family. It grows in some areas of the Himalayas where yogis use it to improve meditation. Some believe that Gotu Kola develops the crown chakra and that it balances the right and left hemispheres of the brain. This herb has mild stimulating properties, which help to nourish and bring balance to the nervous system. It also supports the body's ability to acclimate to temporary stress.
Passionflower
Passionflower is a mild sedative that calms the mind when it is agitated or anxious. It also increases serotonin levels. It can give you a sense of peace and allow you to focus. Passionflower can be used to help attract friendships and passion and is great for blessing your space.
Chamomile
A gentle yet effective herb, Chamomile provides a sense of calm and can help soothe the nervous system. Drinking Chamomile tea before meditation can be beneficial, especially if you struggle to enter a meditative state. Used as part of meditation, Chamomile can help with love, sleep, protection & purification and also reduce stress. Chamomile is also useful for manifesting money and enhancing Solar Magic.
