Episode 104
Mark Appel's journey to the major leagues is one full of disappointment and perseverance. A week after making his major league debut with the Philadelphia Phillies, the former No. 1 overall pick joined Matt and Leslee Holliday on "Table Forty" to talk about his quest to the major leagues that included being drafted in the Top 10 twice, passing up a contract to return to college, dealing with injury after injury, retiring, then getting healthy and making a comeback to major league baseball.
At the center of all of his decisions was his faith in God, and it was that same faith that helped him persevere despite countless setbacks, delays, and frustration as he tried to figure out his health and his future. He's finally reached his goal of pitching in the big leagues and he hopes people see Jesus through him.
