For more than 300 years the French crown was passed from father to son. In 1316 this record came to an end. In this series I look at four women who might have been queen regnant of France, but we passed over in favour of a male. This series tells the story of these women, Joan II of Navarre, Joan III of Burgundy, Blanche of France, and Isabella of France, and explains the reasons they would never rule.
This series is a great pre-cursor to my next series, which starts those passed over during the Hundred Years War.
