26. ‘Audioslave’ - Audioslave (2002)
‘Be Yourself’
With Soundgarden and Rage Against The Machine both on breaks, the ashes of both bands rose in the form of Audioslave - a heavy, grungy, funky take on music that emphasised both Chris Cornell’s vocals and Rage Against The Machine’s music.
Their eponymous debut album was a fresh take on both of their already successful music, but with new, unique and unexplored musical ventures attempted and achieved. ‘Audioslave’ was a success - it bred a couple of well received singles and was met with positive critical acclaim. Laz analyses the musical aspects, whilst Felipe dissects the lyrics - and, together, they dive into the minds of Chris Cornell and Tom Morello.
