Welcome back to another episode of Locked on Seminoles, your favorite daily Florida State Seminoles sports podcast! Drake and Dave discuss the massive news of star DE Jared Verse’s decision to forego the NFL Draft and return to FSU for another season, react to some top-5 early preseason rankings the ‘Noles are receiving, and hand out some preliminary superlatives for the 2022 team.

First, Drake and Dave discuss the enormous news that star defender Jared Verse—the Seminoles’ highest rated defensive player in 2022—will return to FSU for another season instead of entering the NFL Draft that many believed would land him in the first round, and offer their insight into what this means for Florida State in 2023. Then, the guys discuss the early preseason rankings hype that the Seminoles are garnering, including a top-5 ranking from Brett McMurphy and others, and debate whether such a ranking is appropriate and beneficial to the ‘Noles high hopes in 2023.
