Even the most seemingly respectable orphanages and adoption companies can be a front for child tracking rings, and today we’re going to tell you the story of one such organisation: The Tennessee Children’s Home Society, sometimes known as the Georgia Tann Children’s Home.
The Tennessee Children's Home Society began as a non-profit orphanage in 1897. But in the 1920s, under the direction of Georgia Tann, it served as a child trafficking hub. Estimates say that nearly 5,000 children were stolen by Tann and sold for a profit.
