Episode 38: ‘Between The Buttons’ - The Rolling Stones (1967)
‘Cool, Calm, Connection'
Following the success of their first few albums, The Rolling Stones changed things up with their 5th (UK) installment in 1967. ‘Between The Buttons’ went under the radar due to its departure from their blues-based Rock to something more Psychedelic, but presented listeners with, perhaps, the Stones’ most mature work.
Choosing to write a ‘sound experience’ rather than a collection of singles, Brian Jones put down the guitar to pursue a variety of other instruments and some well orchestrated classical instrumentation was introduced to their music. Laz & Felipe discuss, dissect and dive into this underrated gem of an album!
