10: Developing a Growth Mindset with Holly Schor
It’s not always easy to discover our skills and talents in the workplace, and in life. The truth is though, we all have unique strengths, and it’s important that we continue developing and evolving, instead of holding ourselves back. In today’s episode, Holly Schor shares her story of becoming a leader with the Goodwill organization, and how the growth mindset has been vital for her along the way. She’s been a key part in supporting a merger within the company, and she now manages a team of 400 people.
Holly is passionate about connecting people to the best positions for them, and helping them remove their self-imposed limits in life. Watching her father struggle for years with significant barriers, she has made it her mission to redefine how people connect to work. Since diving into her own growth mindset, Holly has continued to be reflective of her personal values on her journey. Gratefulness has greatly shaped Holly’s life, and she now experiences a sense of freedom when it comes to her work and the people she works with. Holly knows the importance of developing and evolving as a leader, and she feels truly aligned as a whole person.

“I feel the most connected to my work and most satisfied with my job, even on the hardest of days when I’m sad or angry about something I’ve had to do. I think it’s because I’ve chosen to be the whole person (inside and outside). The growth mindset has helped me align all of the versions of myself into one person, and I feel more present today than I’ve ever felt in my career.”
