Dr. Li emphasizes the importance of incorporating metabolism-boosting foods into your diet – he sings the praises of tomatoes, broccoli, bok choy, carrots, beets, onions, garlic, and berries, among others. Unlike other voices in the food as medicine space, Dr. Li also gives many foods found in the middle of most every supermarket their due. Some of the hidden treasures we shouldn’t overlook are beans, capers, chilis, dried mushrooms and the surprise heavy-hitter: apple cider vinegar.
