Jacob Rothman - Perch & Quantifying Strength

Jacob Rothman, a distinguished sportsman from MIT, faced a setback when he suffered a herniated disc during a typical workout session. During his recovery phase, he began contemplating innovative solutions to assist athletes in accurately assessing their workouts in the weight room, ultimately reducing the risk of injuries and enhancing overall performance. Collaborating with two fellow athletes from the campus, they collectively conceived the concept of Perch. This groundbreaking platform utilizes advanced AI technology, integrating 3D cameras and machine learning algorithms, to meticulously track exercise movements. By doing so, it aims to uplift athletes' motivation, ensure their safety, and optimize their performance while engaging in weight training activities.
