Schools damaged in the Western Cape due to severe weather

Eleven people are confirmed dead due to a severe weather system, that hit the Western Cape.  According to police reports four of the victims were children aged between 7 and 12 years old.  With heavy rains and strong winds subsiding, clean up assessments and repairs are underway across in the province.  This while many roads remain inaccessible and dangerous. The Western Cape Department of Education says 242 schools have been damaged following heavy rains and gale force winds across the province. Learners from the affected districts have been unable to attend school due to road closures. Elvis Presslin spoke to Bronagh Hammond, Communication Director for the Western Cape Education Department
