De documentaire ‘Als ik zelf de zon ben’ vertelt het verhaal van klassiek pianist Djuwa Mroivili. Zij zoekt als zelfbewust talent haar weg binnen de conservatieve witte wereld van de klassieke muziek. Djuwa doet historisch onderzoek naar de Wereldtentoonstelling van 1883 op het huidige Museumplein in Amsterdam, waar ook mensen uit Nederlandse kolonies tentoongesteld werden. Ze ontdekt er verbijsterende paralellen met de klassieke muziekwereld van nu. De documentaire wordt op maandag 9 oktober uitgezonden bij de NTR op NPO2.
