#48 Musique et colonialité. Samba et résistance afrobrésilienne
Voici le premier volet d’une série consacrée aux rapports entre la musique et la colonialité, à travers l’exemple de la samba. Dans cet épisode, je vous invite à quitter le regard exotisant sur la samba et l’envisager sous le prisme décolonial, loin des clichés et des représentations dépolitisées.
La samba est un genre musical né dans les communautés afrobrésiliennes de Rio de Janeiro à la fin du 19e siècle. Elle tire ses racines dans la culture des Afrobrésiliens·nes qui s'est forgée depuis la fin de la période esclavagiste. C’est un genre musical subalterne, des Noir·es de la capitale brésilienne de l'époque, Rio de Janeiro, et qui va être récupéré par les classes supérieures blanches et l’industrie musicale brésilienne.
