Character & Obedience: Unbreakable Links in Parenting with Dr. Kathy Koch

Last week we talked about instilling character in our children, but what is the correlation between character and obedience? Why is it more important to focus on developing character in our kids rather than obedience?

We are so blessed to have Dr. Kathy Koch back for her second episode on the Warfare Parenting Podcast. Kathy shares more from her new book, Parent Differently: Raise Kids with Biblical Character That Changes Culture, about how we can instill obedience in our children through developing their character. She describes how creating character in children leads to them becoming obedient as well.

Kathy discusses why focusing on building character over obedience leads to a greater development in children as a whole, and often will allow them to be more obedient as a result.

Who is Kathy Koch?

Dr. Kathy Koch (pronounced “cook”) is the Founder and President of Celebrate Kids, Inc., based in Fort Worth, TX, and a cofounder of Ignite the Family, based in Alpharetta, GA. She has influenced thousands of parents, teachers, and children in 30 countries through keynote messages, seminars, chapels, and other events. She is proud to be represented by the Ambassador Speakers Bureau of Nashville, TN. She is a featured speaker for the Great Homeschool Conventions, on the faculty of Summit Ministries, and a frequent presenter for Care Net, Axis, and other organizations. She speaks regularly at schools, churches, and pregnancy resource centers.
