If you’ve ever been added to a Facebook group without consent or gotten a sales email right away after adding someone on LinkedIn, did you read it? Did you join and engage with the group? Or leave the group? Did you read the sales message and schedule the appointment? Or did you delete it because you felt a little invaded? My guess is it’s the latter. Get to know people. That's what social media is all about. And that’s what engagement is. Engagement is building community and talking to people. It's much more than going after the sale.
