Fence Squatters: Is Hunting The Fence Line Okay?
In today's age of hunting, a good chunk of private property can be hard to come by, especially for deer hunting. If you have private ground to hunt, whether it is permission, owned, or leased, then you may be looking to try and manage your herd population. You may know some of the neighbors, but not all of them. You walk out to the stand one morning ready for a sit and notice a stand right on the edge of the fence line on the other side. Although the stand is not facing your side of the fence, it is in a tree 10 yards from it. The real question is, is setting a stand right on the property line fair? This topic comes to us from written in to though podcast, who is dealing with this situation. We sat down to give our opinion on whether "fence squatting" is ethical or not. From providing examples of our stand locations, to scenarios we have dealt with, to solutions to help keep more deer on your side of the fence. So, what do you guys think, is fence squatting ok?
