Dr Graham Grant began his career as an engineer of medical equipment and went on to study medicine, but continued inventing medical devices. One of the earliest of his many inventions was a portable incubator for premature babies, which saved them from dying in freezing winter temperatures during transportation to hospitals in the UK.
He has received an Order of Australia in this year’s Australia Day Honours for his contributions to biomedical engineering and medicine. Now 90, he still plays jazz piano.
Guest: Dr Graham Grant, anaesthetist, engineer and inventor.
