Corporate Execs Earn More than their Companies Pay in Federal Taxes
In a recent study by Americans for Tax Fairness and the Institute for Policy Studies published recently, 35 major U.S. corporations paid less in federal income tax between 2018 and 2022 than they paid their top five executives. Co-author of the study, Senior Writer Will Rice, gives some of the details of how corporations have seen their tax rate steadily decline as earnings skyrocket for execs. Some Biden policies have tightened the loopholes, but more is needed to make the system fair to “common taxpayers” who pay a higher percentage of their income to support government programs.
