There is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape to the land of the Philistines; and Saul will despair of me, to seek me anymore in any part of Israel. So I shall escape out of his hand." David, no longer wanting to run from Saul and hide out in the wilderness, has a low point in his life as he joins himself to the King of Gath. He said that there was nothing better for him then to go and dwell with the enemies of Israel and God.
