297: PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT THROUGH THE LENS OF JOSEPH CAMPBELL’S HERO’S JOURNEY

On this week’s episode of Can’t Be Contained, I’m rolling solo again and digging into personal development as seen through the lens of Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey. Although it’s most well-known as a template for narrative stories, The Hero’s Journey can be an incredibly powerful framework for initiating transformation and self-discovery. 

 

As the quest for personal fulfillment can feel endless and full of hurdles, having the skills to identify and apply the various stages of The Hero’s Journey to whatever stage of life you find yourself in is invaluable. 

 

From the call to action, (the most overwhelming part of anyone’s personal growth journey), the refusal, to the crossing of the threshold, Joseph Campbell’s monomyth resembles the true-to-life stages of growth and applies to far more than just fictional narratives.
