We welcome Professor Barry Ife, Principal of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, to talk about the upcoming trio of concerts on 26 October celebrating the life and work of Enrique Granados (1867-1916) and mark the centenary of his death. We discuss Granados' work and his place in the pantheon of Spanish composers, as well as his special guest appearance at our final concert on 26 October. The concerts are supported by the Instituto Cervantes in London, the British-Spanish Society, the Spanish Song and Zarzuela Festival and the Embassy of Spain.
"Love and Death... el amor y la muerte..." runs in the Milton Court Concert Hall at 1pm, 6pm and 7:30pm on Tuesday 26 October. (http://www.gsmd.ac.uk/music/view_all_events/?tx_julleevents_pi1%5BshowUid%5D=4790) Admission is free so do come along and enjoy some wonderful music.
