Is It Possible the New York Islanders Re-Sign Cal Clutterbuck and Matt Martin?

We are now two weeks into NHL free agency and both Cal Clutterbuck and Matt Martin have not re-signed with any team. In fact, there haven't even been rumors of any other team being interested in either player. Is it possible that Lou Lamoriello has spoken to both players and told them he will bring them back if they don't have a better offer elsewhere? Is this good for the Islanders?
