Episode 166: Scream

Shauna from Sparky About Movies is feeling a bit hoarse & a tad raspy but isn't too bothered. I told her we could easily adjust to a communication system based on hand signals & flags, but she assured me things would be fine so long as she didn't let herself scream. This was (sadly) the Pee-Wee Herman word of the day so a whole buttload of preloaded sound effects & confetti cannons went off giving Shauna the UK version of a heart attack, so as an act of contrition I suggested we chat about the 1996 Wes Craven teen-slasher game-changer & Shauna's favoritest movie ever- Scream. Walk on down to Woodsboro where the houses are secluded, the ice cream cones are plentiful, and Fonzie is the high school principal! We love horror & we love the 90's so we're here to geek out & freak out over this genre-rejuvenating powerhouse that launched the most significant new horror icon of the modern era! How did this franchise cement itself & endure spawning a TV series, countless video game appearances & a run of 7 feature films? There's a formula to it, a very simple formula.
