I woke up feeling grateful,

I woke up feeling full.

This warm feeling within me,

Awakened what was dull. 

PAUSE

The worries slowly crumbled,

The anxiousness dissolved.

All that felt unsettled,

Suddenly felt resolved. 

PAUSE

Instead of my mind spinning,

With tasks fueled by fear,

My mind and body felt soft,

Relaxed and very clear. 

LONG PAUSE

I know there’s so much undone,

So many shades of pain,

The world can sometimes feel like,

We’re going a bit insane. 

PAUSE

But still I know that I can,

Focus on all the good.

I can choose to be kind,

Make others feel understood. 

PAUSE

The tiny little moments,

Of laughter, hugs and smiles,

Are what I choose to notice,

Their impact goes for miles. 

LONG PAUSE 

I woke up feeling grateful,

Lightness I want to keep.

So down the path of love,

I’ll go until I sleep. 

PAUSE

Did you know that you,

Can find something right now,

Inviting waves of gratitude,

To flow to you somehow? 

PAUSE

Bring your focus in,

Landing on your breath.

Feel your belly rise up,

And spread air through its depths. 

LONG PAUSE

Now with each exhale,

Relax a little more.

And feel your body melting,

As you come into your core. 

PAUSE

Take some time to pause,

And hold them close to you,

The big and smallest blessings,

That are surrounding you. 

PAUSE

Let them fill your body,

And open up more space,

Let them overpower,

Any darkness in this place. 

LONG PAUSE

I woke up feeling grateful,

I woke up feeling free.

Today I’ll choose to love,

And spread it all ‘round me.
