• Influence on EU Policy: The AI HLEG's work laid the groundwork for the EU's broader AI strategy, including the development of the European AI Act, which aims to create a legal framework for AI that balances innovation with the protection of fundamental rights.
• Engagement with Stakeholders: Through the European AI Alliance, the group engaged over 4,000 stakeholders in discussions on AI's ethical, legal, and social implications.

The AI HLEG concluded its mandate in July 2020. Its work continues to influence EU policies on AI, ensuring that AI development and deployment in Europe align with core values and fundamental rights.
