Levon Chilingirian, Professor of Violin at the Guildhall School, joins us to talk about the upcoming Guildhall String Ensemble concert in Milton Court.
We discuss the wide-ranging repertoire, with the lesser-known Janáček Suite for String Orchestra and Beethoven's great String Quartet No. 14 bookending the British premiere of Tigran Mansurian Violin Concerto No. 2. We also talk about his experience of rehearsing and performing alongside students, as well as the ever-present excitement of performing on stage.
The Guildhall String Ensemble concert will take place in the Milton Court Concert Hall at 7:00pm on Thursday 26 Jauary. Tickets are available from the Barbican Box Office (https://www.barbican.org.uk/music/event-detail.asp?ID=200801).
