Welcome to the very first segmented episode of the BATR Podcast. Coach James will be going through a litany of news and updates throughout the collegiate and professional basketball world. 

First up, on Tip-Off Topics, Coach breaks down the injuries to Pelicans star Brandon Ingram and Magic uprising talent in Franz Wagner. Both players will be out indefinitely with their respective injuries. How will this affect both teams going forward throughout the rest of the 2024-25 season. Next, the number one team at the time for men’s college basketball in Kansas just lost their last two games. What’s wrong with the Jayhawks as they dropped out of the top spot in the country? In addition, we update recent WNBA Champion Sabrina Ionescu and her surgery on her right thumb. Also, Coach recaps the blowout win in women’s basketball as South Carolina hammered TCU on Sunday. Lastly, there has been some Lakers drama brewing up. Although the team is currently sitting with a 13-11 record, is this team legit enough to make a playoff push? 

Next up is Coach’s Courtney Vision. We look ahead to betting futures market for the NBA Cup as the playoffs are set to go this week. Coach gives you his best bets for the team win the NBA Cup with a sleeper pick as well, teams that will make the NBA Cup Finals, and who deserves the MVP awards for the tournament. 

Last, but not least, is Coach’s Scouting Report and Buzzer Beater. Coach previews the Tuesday and Wednesday slate for the NBA Cup games and gives you a best bet for each matchup. In addition, for the Buzzer Beater, Coach calls out Seton Hall especially for the men’s basketball program, but not in a good way.
