Just because someone said you “should” spend the holidays with your family (who you might not even like!) doesn’t mean you have to! If it takes away from your peace and joy, it doesn’t have to be a priority. You may end up having a few difficult conversations and you may end up breaking a few traditions, but there’s always time to make some of your own.
