Episode 001 - Lets Go

In this very first episode of The Creative’s Chronicles, I talk about the reason for this podcast and what its intended to accomplish – “telling the stories of Creatives, their journey so far”; here we celebrating the victories, take notes from the lessons and experiences thus becoming so much more…. I talk about my believe in the uniqueness of our life’s journey and I believe there is always room for growth and improvement, we can always do better and become better. So Here is to that Designer, Developer, Photographer, Writer, Creative Professional or you with hopes of getting started in career as a Creative… For starters, a little about me, I am a Graphic and Web Designer, I started out as a computer operator in a business centre and after a few years, I became a Secretary for a Construction Company, after 2 years working as a secretary I had this feeling that there’s got to be more than what I was doing… Opportunity presented itself in the form of an Internship role with a Design Agency, believe me it wasn’t an easy path at all, it included a take home pay that barely covered my transport fare, excluding feeding and other expenses, but I am indeed grateful to God for the opportunities and avenues for growth this internship role played in my journey as a Creative… Your path might be different or similar but all have to make sacrifices and take risks, this in itself is a necessity,  and now I can boldly say I have no regrets taking this route… did I make mistakes? Plenty, Did I learn? Yes I did, Would I do things a little different, hmmm… probably, like the saying goes if we knew better we will do better… and I really do appreciate everyone that has made contributions in this journey, My Mom and Amazing siblings, Bosses like Ademola Badejo, The Amazing lessons from Chris Do and this Amazing Legend – The Sage “Segun Adebayo” The UX Legend, Boss Believe Stanley, Dayo Akindolani, wonderful co-workers and the Awesome Legends at D21.5 Century you all rock! If you want to get started as a designer, outside learning the basics, a very crucial part of your career will be relationships… Value them, it matters… remember the golden rule, treat others as you want to be treated, it works…. believe me, Value people… Next week on this Podcast will have on this show an Amazing Creative… who will be sharing with us his journey and experiences, so please tune in next week on Friday for another interesting Episode… Don’t forget to leave your comments and feedback on this episode, I am very open to feedback… I am going to leave links in the show notes to articles and resources that will help you on this path as a Creative….
