Zachary Loughman, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Biology (Zoology/Ecology), Zoo Science & Applied Conservation Coordinator at West Liberty University.
He has discovered, identified, and named 10 new crayfish species here in North America. He even has a species of crawfish named in his honor (Cambarus loughmani).
Currently Dr. Loughman teaches Herpetology and Herpetoculture, and it very well may be the only Herpetolcuture class taught at a University in the states. West Liberty University currently has a collection of over 200 herps and Dr. Zac has a personal collection of around 60 herps.
We talk a bit about crayfish, reptile husbandry, and the future of the pet trade.
