- An exchange between a pit bull supporter and Mayor Denis Coderre during the Ville Marie Borough Council meeting this week and a lot of people have seen the video online. Coderre made sure he had the last word. In the video, Kim Doucet is seen and heard telling the mayor her opinion of the breed specific legislation proposed by the city. She says it's wrong, and science is on her side. That's when Mayor Coderre cut her off, jumping in after 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Borough officials told Doucet she had at least 3 minutes to make her point. Coderre says he cut her off because her tone wasn't fit for council. What do you make of this? Did the mayor do anything wrong?
- Jean-Francois Lisee wants to be the next leader of the PQ and the next premier of Quebec. He's open to the idea of banning the niqab and burka in public. The garments are worn by some Muslim women and the face is covered in both cases. A woman's eyes are visible if she wears the niqab. What do you make of Lisee's comments? Do we need a ban like this?
- Headline on the front page of The Gazette; MUHC merger 'crazy': according to the union. At issue is a proposed merger between the MUHC and 2 other health networks in Montreal. The fear is that a merger would lead to an unmanageable situation because of thousands of employees. Do you share the union's point of view?
- A letter to the editor in The Gazette that says taxi drivers will become obsolete, that Uber is to the taxi industry what the automobile was to the horse and buggy. Do you see it that way? Will traditional cabs one day become extinct?
- An opinion piece by a former adviser to Bill Clinton who says it's far easier for Donald Trump to clean up his act than for Hillary Clinton to live down her past. Do you agree with that?
