The Living Full Out Show with Nancy Solari encourages you to grow by competing with others. Perhaps you are working towards a promotion against other colleagues. Maybe you are an athlete and need to outperform the other team for your next game. Healthy competition is what motivates you to be better and try even harder. When you put your best effort in to what you do, you are living full out.
Our first caller, Yassi, has just applied to colleges, and is wondering how she can deal with the anxiety and possible disappointment of being rejected. Nancy says to act as if she has already been accepted to her dream school, as this will make her feel calmer. Tune in to learn how you can cope with the anxiety of waiting to hear back from a spot you are competing for.
Our second caller, Samantha, is wondering how she can focus on her studies, rather than spending more time going out with friends or picking up extra shifts at work. Nancy advises her to remember how awful it felt the last time she procrastinated and use those past memories to become more organized and prepared. Listen in to hear how you can learn from your previous mistakes to improve the way you manage your schedule in the future.
Our inspirational guest, Abbey Curran, was born with cerebral palsy (CP), which affects the muscles in her legs and the way she walks. Despite her impairment, she worked to follow her passion of participating in pageants and became Miss Iowa USA 2008. She is the first person with a disability to compete in the prestigious Miss USA competition. When she entered her first pageant, she received a lot of negative feedback due to her handicap. Regardless of what anyone said, she continued to believe in herself and pursue the path she wanted. Tune in to hear more about Abbey’s experiences with living with CP throughout her childhood and during her pageant competitions and how she refused to let this health condition get in the way of accomplishing her dreams.
As Nancy closes the show, she relays that when faced with competition, you should learn to shut it out and let your passion guide you to success.
