Henein is a native of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She interviewed documentarian Morgan Spurlock for Penthouse, and also produced documentaries for the UK’s September Films on subjects that include pimps, drug dealers and porn stars in the Los Angeles area.[2] She was also part of First Apartment, a reality show webcast in the late 1990s and early 2000s on the now-defunct website crushedplanet.com, produced by Joe and Harry Gantz of Taxicab Confessions.
Following a near-fatal pedestrian versus car crash in 2002 in which she was dragged for 49 feet, broke her leg, vertebrae, and several ribs and had to have a titanium rod inserted, she researched issues of health and nutrition to help her in her recovery and became aware of colony collapse disorder.
In 2015, Maryam Henein was featured as an Environmental and Wellness Advocate in the book "Going Supernova: 101 SuperAchievers"
With subject of America's increasing threat of toxins in public water sources, in 2017 Henein interviewed activist Erin Brokovich for Truthout.org
