Episode 99 - Under the Skin (2013)

It's once time for Catching Up On Cinema's 2nd annual "Kyle's Killer October" event month!

This month, Kyle has selected a number of films that fall under the category of "unconventional horror."

First up this Killer October, is Jonathan Glazer's thought provoking sci-fi horror film, Under the Skin (2013).

Adapted from a novel of the same name, and starring Scarlett Johannsen as an alien hiding in plain sight in modern day Scotland, the film is a rich experience, both in terms of thematic content and aesthetic presentation.

Featuring lovely shot compositions, a truly unique and detailed soundscape, and powerful, borderline non-verbal acting performances, the film is a beautiful, if unnerving piece of modern horror history.
